Your daily routine will not remain the same this coming Sunday. November 1 brings changes ranging from gas cylinders to train timetables. Let’s begin.

Gas cylinder’s delivery system is being changed. From November 1 onwards, oil companies now require authentication from the registered mobile number of the customer who is to receive the cylinder. The authentication will be in the form of a one-time authentication (OTP) received via mobile text. This OTP, also called Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) will be required by the delivery person before he hands over the cylinder.

Indane has updated its automated telephone booking number. This has been intimated to the customers via mobile text also. The new number which a customer needs to call is 7718955555.

Indian Railways is updating train timetables for trains all over India. 13,000 passenger trains and 7,000 freight trains will see changes. These trains include30 Rajdhani trains. Also, Tejas Express will run from Chandigarh to New Delhi every day of the week except Wednesday.

Rates of interest in Savings Bank accounts in SBI will be reduced. From November 1, the annual rate of interest has been reduced by 0.25%. The current rate of interest on savings bank account with balance less than Rs 1 lakh is 3.25%. For savings banks accounts with balance more than Rs 1 lakh, the interest rate will be as per repo rates.

Bank of Baroda customers too have many changes waiting for them from November 1. For loan accounts, fourth and more withdrawals in a month will be charged at Rs 150 per withdrawal. While for savings bank accounts, fourth or more deposits in a month will be charged at Rs 40 per deposit. For Jan Dhan account holders, there is no charge for depositing but there are charges per withdrawal, being Rs 100.

Kerala will become the first state in the country to set minimum support price (MSP). The state government’s MSP will be 20% higher.
