Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar broke the headlines a few days back after he and his party Janata Dal United (JDU) joined the BJP-led NDA alliance in the state. Nitish Kumar broke tries with the Mahagathbandhan and the famous INDIA alliance months before the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. On BJP's support, Nitish Kumar took oath for Bihar CM for the record 9th time. However, Nitish Kumar breaking ties with the opposition after being the key person responsible for making the INDIA alliance indeed raised many questions. Now, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday addressed the media after being continuously labeled as 'Paltu Chacha' (flip flop man) and explained why he broke away from the INDIA alliance.

Addressing the media, Bihar CM Nitish Kumar said, "I was urging them (INDIA block) to choose another name for the alliance. But they had already finalised it. I was trying so hard. They did not do even one thing. Till today, they haven't decided which party will contest how many seats. This is why I left them and came back to who I was with initially. Now, I will stay with the NDA. I will keep working for the people of Bihar."

Notably, Janata Dal-United (JD-U) leader Nitish Kumar on Sunday was sworn in as Chief Minister of Bihar for the ninth time- hours after he dissolved his Cabinet by walking out of the 'Mahagathbandhan' to once again join hands with the BJP. Bihar Governor Rajendra Arlekar administered the oath of office to Nitish Kumar during the swearing-in ceremony as the Raj Bhavan. Bihar unit BJP chief Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were named Deputy Chief Ministers.
