Coronavirus once again has started creating chaos in the country. Amid the second wave of coronavirus, state polls were held resulting in a great increase in the number of fresh cases. On April 14, India reported more than 1 lakh new corona cases and more than 1000 fatalities. Additionally, the country is facing a shortage in the availability of vaccination, and the health system in most states has collapsed due to a shortage of beds and ventilators for patients.

Several state governments have applied night curfews and issued strict guidelines and covid norms that restrict political and social gatherings. Despite this, India has surpassed Brazil in the number of corona infections. Reports show an upward trend from March 15 onwards in most states including all the poll-bound states.

Political rallies, roadshows, and public campaigns were organized in the states like Assam, Kerela, Tamil Nadu, and Puducherry, completely ignoring Covid norms like social distancing and wearing masks.
