Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait on Saturday afternoon, during the Chakka Jam event, said that the agitating farmers will not return home till their demands are met and will not be compelled into holding talks with the government. The three-hour-long Chakka Jam was passed peacefully, with farmers blocking national and state highways to protest the internet suspension in areas near their agitation sites, alleged harassment by the authorities and other issues being faced by the protesting farmers. Today’s roadblock was observed pan-India except in Delhi, UP and Uttarakhand.

Tikait while addressing farmers gathering at Ghazipur border announced that the protest will go on till October 2 and it is the deadline for the Centre to repeal the laws, adding that the protest will further increase if they fail to do so. "We won't return home unless our demands are met," Mr Tikait.

"We have given time to the government till October 2 to repeal the laws. After this, we will do further planning. We won't hold discussions with the government under pressure," he added.
