An old woman died after coming under a PRTC bus on the Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway near Subhanpur bus stand in Kapurthala. After the incident, the Subhanpur police reached the spot and started the investigation by taking possession of the body.

SHO Subhanpur police station Hardeep Singh said that the deceased Joginder Kaur, a resident of village Matopur, Amritsar, along with her husband Amrik Singh, had come to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sahib near Subhanupar. Meanwhile, PRTC bus No. PB 09 X 3601 from Amritsar was turning near the bridge towards Kapurthala when suddenly Joginder Kaur came under the rear tyres of the bus.
She was seriously injured in this accident. Passengers immediately took her to the nearest hospital. Where the doctors declared her dead. The SHO said that further action would be taken based on the statements of the family members.
