BJP's new joinee Sushil Rinku on Thursday fired his first shots at the Punjab Government and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections 2024. Jalandhar MP Sushil Rinku on Wednesday quit AAP and joined the BJP along with another MLA Sheetal  Angural. After joining the BJP, Sushil Rinku stated that the promises made to the people of Jalandhar by the AAP were not fulfilled by the Punjab Government, therefore, he decided to join the saffron party. Furthermore, Rinku lavished his praise on PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over their working style. Now, Sushil Rinku during a press conference on Thursday slammed the Punjab Government and said-

"If a party's national leader goes to a city and promises to lift the heap of garbage from Jalandhar's model town, Nakodar Road in return for voting for the candidate and sending him to the Lok Sabha. I want to request everyone to send their team to Model Town's graveyard, send your team to Jalandhar's Nakodar Road outside Khalsa School whether the garbage problem has been resolved or not. If a party's national leader cannot fulfill such a simple promise then I don't have any hopes from this government."

"This is just a small example, there are many promises that have been made to the people of Jalandhar. The condition of roads in Jalandhar is poor, localities are getting polluted water. These are basic infrastructure. I gave them multiple reminders to both Punjab and the Central Government. There are only talks and not much output."

Rinku further outlined that the law & order situation in Punjab is also not well. "Goons demanding ransom from the common businessperson and people have amped up. Business communities are in fear. Drugs like Chitta are commonly sold. Cable mafias are active."
