Operation Ganga: Indian Government’s blueprint to evacuate stranded students from Ukraine

Under this, India has already successfully brought back more than a 1,000 of its nationals from the country.

India has launched ‘Operation Ganga’ to evacuate stranded students from the war-torn country Ukraine. Under this, India has already successfully brought back more than 1,000 of its nationals from the country.

A total of three flights carrying stranded Indian nationals took off from Hungary's Budapest in the last 24 hours amid intensified Russia and Ukraine War.

The evacuation operation named 'Operations Ganga' is being extensively activated from Poland, Romania, Hungary and Slovakia. Camps have been set up in these countries at the borders with Ukraine.

The second flight from Budapest left for Delhi on Saturday carrying 250 Indian nationals.

The first flight to Mumbai with 219 Indian nationals had also taken off from Romania.


Apart from this, Govt. of India has set up 24x7 control centers to assist the evacuation of Indian nationals from Ukraine through border crossing points with Poland, Romania, Hungary, and the Slovak Republic.
