As per reports, Christopher Nolan's thriller 'Oppenheimer' has managed to earn a whopping Rs 13.50 crore in India. On the other hand, Barbie is witnessing a slow start at the box office in India, with only Rs 5 crore collected on its opening day. It means Nolan's Oppenheimer has become the highest earner of opening day in India. Before Oppenheimer, Tom Cruise starrer Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, minted Rs 12.50 crore on its opening day. Additionally, it outperformed Vin Diesel’s Fast X, which had debuted in India with Rs 12.50 crore on May 19.

It is pertinent to mention here that Nolan's movie is winning the race in India, but globally it is Barbie that is overshadowing Nolan's movie. As per US media reports, Barbie has achieved the best previews of the entire year, grossing $22.3 million, surpassing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's $17.5 million. On the other hand, Universal reports that Oppenheimer earned $10.5 million from 3,150 theaters in its previews.
