A huge political controversy is in making after Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey on Tuesday stepped down from his post after taking voluntary retirement from the services (VRS). His VRS request was approved by Governor Phagu Chauhan. Reports claim that the officer is all set to contest in the upcoming Bihar elections from BJP.

Interestingly, when Pandey was in limelight in Sushant Singh Rajput's case, Sanjay Raut had alleged that Gupteshwar Pandey will be contesting the Bihar elections. Now, the opposition parties have united and slammed the BJP for doing 'dirty politics'.

Congress spokesperson Sachin Sawant wrote, "Big dirty conspiracy of BJP to defame Maharashtra to reduce its national importance! Bihar DGP who was used in this being blatantly rewarded. His VRS says it all. BJP had no sympathy for SSR but saw political opportunity to use his death for Bihar elections & now for new film city."

(If you want to do politics then do, if you want to contest elections, fight on courage and truth. But in this 'secret' way, starting your campaign with the unfortunate death of someone is very sad and unfortunate. May God give you wisdom before success.)

Trinamool Congress leader Mahua Moitra wrote, "Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey takes VRS- may contest from Buxar for BJP. No serving bureaucrat,  IPS, or SC judge is above suspicion nowadays. Every word or action of theirs should be analysed by citizens."
