He said if any non-registered organization is found functioning after the due date, strict action would be taken.

O/O District Public Relations Officer, Jalandhar, December 28- Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Monday said that as per directions of Punjab Government, the registration of any Non-Government Organization (NGO) which provides free housing, food, education and medical facilities to the needy children for their protection and care, is mandatory.

Thori said these organizations are required to register themselves under Section 41 (1) of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. He added if any NGO is working on care and protection of children and has not yet been registered, it should immediately contact the District Programme Officer or the District Child Development officer at their office in Kapurthala Chowk with relevant documents before December 31 for registration.

He said if any non-registered organization is found functioning after the due date, strict action would be taken against that organization under Section 42 of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015.
