Oscar 2021: Best adapted screenplay award for ‘The Father’

Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller won an Oscar in the adapted screenplay category for their roles in the Anthony-Hopkins ‘The father’.

Oscar 2021 is finally over after much delay. Keeping in view all the covid 19 restrictions this year’s academy awards took place with few changes. Talking about the awards nominations now, Christopher Hampton and Florian Zeller won an Oscar in the adapted screenplay category for their roles in the Anthony-Hopkins ‘The father’.

The film story revolves around the main Protagonist (Hopkins) interaction with his daughter Anne (Colman) and other characters also who give him ideas about the past and present. Just like Anthony the audience also has to solve the puzzle the movie lays of what’s real and who should be believed. A Florian Zeller directed movie is an adaptation of his 2014 play. The movie has collected a total of six Oscar nominations this year. Emerald Fennel also won the academy award for the original Screenplay of the comedy thriller movie ‘Promising Young Women’.

This year’s 93rd Academy Awards are being held at both Dolby Theatre and Union Station. The ceremony finally took place in April after two months of delay from the original plan because of the coronavirus pandemic crisis on the entertainment industry worldwide. The nominations for the awards were announced earlier on March 15 this year. Since the 93 rounds of The Oscar ceremony, it is for the fourth time that the awards were postponed.

Leading the nominations this year ‘Mank’ was seen in 10 categories while ‘The Father’, ‘Judas and the black Messiah’, ‘Nomadland’, ‘sound of metal’, ‘Minari’ and ‘the trial of Chicago 7’ were nominated for six categories.
