The 94th Academy Awards is being held today, March 28, in Los Angeles. In this ceremony, a two-minute silence was observed in support of Ukraine. Along with this, an appeal was made that those who are capable of helping, should come forward and support Ukraine.

Director Francis Ford Coppola and stars De Niro and Al Pacino celebrated the 50th anniversary of the iconic film 'The Godfather' at the 94th Academy Awards under the theme 'Movie lovers unite' at the Dolby Theatre here.

The director was seen making a speech about 'The Godfather', while De Niro and Pacino were standing silently beside him. 'The Godfather' tribute was introduced by rapper Puff Daddy.

'The Godfather' is a 1972 American crime film based on Mario Puzo's best-selling 1969 novel of the same name.

  • Hollywood star Will Smith won the honour for 'Actor in a Lead Role' for the movie 'King Richard' at the 94th Academy Award held at the Dolby theatre. 'King Richard' is a biographical sports drama film directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green. It follows the life of Richard Williams, the father and coach of famed tennis players Venus and Serena Williams, who were executive producers of the film. It also stars Aunjanue Ellis, Saniyya Sidney, Demi Singleton, Tony Goldwyn, and Jon Bernthal.
  • CODA won Best Picture in the final announcement of the night. It follows the story of the only hearing member of a deaf family.
  • Jessica Chastain wins the Best Actress award for The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
  • The computer-animated musical fantasy comedy film 'Encanto' grabbed the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film at the 94th Oscars, held at the Dolby Theatre. The film beat the likes of 'The Mitchells vs The Machines', 'Luca' among others to claim the honour.
  • 'The Queen of Basketball', based on the life of legendary basketball player Lusia Harris won the Academy Award for Short Subject Documentary at the Academy Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.
  • The Oscar for Best International Feature Film went to Japan's 'Drive My Car'. In this category, the nominations were given to Flea, The Hand of God, Lunana: A Yak in the Classroom, The Worst Person in the World.
  • The science-fiction blockbuster 'Dune' won its sixth Academy Award at the 94th Oscars as it clinched the title for Best Visual Effects.
  •  Ariana DeBose won the Best Supporting category award for West Side Story. Troy Kotsar has won the Best Actor Oscar for the supporting role for the film 'CODA'.
  • "The Summer of Soul" has won an Oscar in the Best Documentary Feature category outside of Writing with Fire Race.
  • Huma Qureshi's 'Army of the Dead' received the Fans Choice Award. 
  • Kenneth Branagh won the Best Original Screenplay award for the film Belfast. 
  • The film 'The Long Goodbye' has received the Academy Award for Live Action Short Film. 
  • Jenny Beavan received the Oscar for Best Costume Design for 'Cruella'.
