The summer is in full swing and the hottest month of the year is about to begin. Therefore, it’s time to update your watchlist with the latest OTT releases this weekend on from May 31st to June 2nd. Distract yourself from scorching heat with these latest releases filled with comedy, action, thrill, suspense, drama, and horror elements. Below are all the new titles arriving on various streamers (Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, JioCinema, and others).

May 30:

Eric (Netflix)

Eric stars Benedict Cumberbatch in the lead role, and tells the story of a grief-stricken father whose 9-year-old son goes missing. Watch him overcome his own demons as he embarks on a mission to search for his son on the streets of 80s New York.

Geek Girl (Netflix)

An adaptation of Holly Smale’s novel of the same name, Geek Girl is a coming-of-the-age drama that revolves around a neurodivergent teenager whose simple life comes under the spotlight when she’s selected to be a model. Will she be able to balance her personal and high school life while navigating the world of fashion? Watch Geek Girl to find out.

The First Omen (Disney+ Hotstar)

The First Omen is a spine-tingling horror movie that also serves as a prequel to the 70s cult classic, The Omen (1976). The movie revolves around an American woman who starts a new life in Rome, however, a shocking discovery involving the Antichrist upends her new life.

Uppu Puli Karam (Disney + Hotstar)

Uppu Puli Karam is a Tamil series that centres around an elderly couple and their children. The ensemble cast of the upcoming series includes Deepika Venkatachalam, Vanitha Krishnachandran, and Navin Kumar, among others. 

Die Hart (Prime Video)

Kevin Hart is back with a new season of his comedy action-adventure drama where he comes up with the concept of a revolutionary movie that would solidify his position as the greatest action star of all time. However, things don’t go as expected and he ends up falling victim to a revengeful plot from his past. The title is play on the famous movie series starring Bruce Willlis, Die Hard.

May 31:

A Part of You (Netflix)

This is an interesting coming-of-the-age drama that delves into the life of a teenager named Agnes whose life is shattered due to a tragedy. Watch her take notes from her popular elder sister and reinvent herself in an attempt to achieve all her dreams. However, she must face the consequences of her decision. 

Raising Voices (Netflix)

Apart from CamdenPanchayat Season 3, Eric, and other exciting titles, the list of latest OTT releases this week also includes an intense drama named Raising Voices. The upcoming series centres around a 17-year-old who reports a sexual assault at her high school. As the investigation progresses, she faces several hurdles that turn her life upside down. 

How to Ruin Love (Netflix)

How to Ruin Love is an upcoming comedy series that revolves around a young woman who ruins a surprise proposal due to a misunderstanding. She now faces the challenge of winning her boyfriend back. Jim Henson Idea man (Disney + Hotstar)

This is a biographical drama based on the life of Jim Henson, a visionary artist who is well-known as the Muppet Man. The upcoming film sheds light on his early career, rise to fame, and relationship with his wife (Jane Henson).

The Last Rifleman (Jio Cinema) 

Headlined by Pierce Brosnan, this action film is loosely based on real events. It tells the tale of a World War 2 veteran, Artie Crawford, who decides to travel from Northern Ireland to France to attend the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings after his wife’s death. 

Dedh Beege Zameen (Jio Cinema)

This is a hard-hitting movie that focuses on a simple man who exposes the corrupt system when a piece of land owned by his family is stolen by a powerful official. The movie features Pratik Gandhi and Khushali Kumar in the pivotal roles.

June 1:

New Amsterdam S4 (Netflix) 

Picking up from where the previous part ended, the new season of New Amsterdam continues to focus on Dr Max Goodwin who struggles to balance the changes in his personal life and hospital needs. The medical drama created by David Schulner features Ryan Eggold, Freema Agyeman, Janet Montgomery, Jocko Sims, and Anupam Kher, among others.

Eileen (Netflix)

This is a highly engaging mystery thriller that follows a young secretary working at a prison facility. Her life faces an unexpected twist when her budding friendship with a glamorous counsellor takes a sinister turn. Directed by William Oldroyd, the upcoming movie features Thomasin McKenzie, Anne Hathaway, and Shea Whigham, among others.
