The affected students, who lived in the college hostel, were receiving meals from a private mess. Despite complaints about the food quality to the college administration, no action had been taken. On Thursday night, the situation escalated when students discovered a baby snake in their food. By then, several students had already eaten the meal. As a result, 10 to 15 students experienced health issues and were taken to Sadar Hospital. After receiving treatment, they were discharged and returned to the college.

In response to the seriousness of the situation, the officials from Banka Sadar SDM and SDPO paid a visit to the college. Following their visit, District Magistrate Anshul Kumar arrived to personally conduct an investigation. Despite the grave nature of the incident, the officials chose not to make any conclusive statements at that time.

However, SDO Abhinash Kumar commented on the situation, saying that while the administration couldn't confirm the presence of a snake in the food, there seemed to be irregularities causing the students' agitation. Following the investigation, the cook was fined, and new meals were prepared. The principal, along with the students, ate the newly prepared food to restore calm.
