The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led centre government's "stubborn" stance on enforcing "black laws" in Punjab; killing more than 100 farmers.

Urging the Prime Minister to wake up from slumber and withdraw the laws. In a press statement issued from Jalandhar, urban district president Rajwinder Kaur and rural district president Principal Prem Kumar said that the only reason for the failure of the 9th round of meeting between the farmers and the centre government was "PM Narendra Modi's stubbornness on giving away the farmers' land to corporate houses."

The AAP leaders said that it was very sad that every day the dead bodies of our 'annadatas' were coming to Punjab from the borders of Delhi, but the Prime Minister of our country was "not feeling any pain."

"There is a very direct and unambiguous demand of the farmers of the country that the three black laws, which will ruin them, should be repealed with immediate effect and if the Modi government does not understand even the straight forward matter, then they have no right to remain in power," they added.

Commenting on the farmers' "tractor rally" to be organized on the occasion of Republic Day, the AAP leaders said that the Modi-led central government who were using "false propaganda" to discredit the farmers' movement, should refrain from "provoking the people."

They said that the farmers had made it clear that they do not believe in any kind of violence and would continue to demand their rights peacefully. "It was very unfortunate that the government has issued notices to the people who stood by the farmers in the agitation and the government should refrain from such actions," added the leaders.

The leaders said that the farmers were working hard in the fields day and night to feed the people of the country, while their sons were protecting the country on the border, but the Modi government was putting its emphasis in "defaming them only".
