China's Sinopharm got approval for emergency use by theauthorities in Pakistan, a government statement said. Pakistan has earlierapproved Astra Zenece-Oxford vaccine.
Sinopharm is manufactured by China NationalPharmaceutical Group and it is approved by Drug Regulatory Authority ofPakistan for emergency use.
Health Ministry of Pakistan said, the country is speakingwith different vaccine manufacturers. “The two COVID-19 vaccines have beengranted EUA with certain conditions," a statement by DRAP spokesman said.
It added that both the vaccines have been evaluated forsafety and quality. It will be reviewed on quarterly basis to ascertain safety,efficacy and quality.
However, Pakistan is yet to make any placements forvaccine procurement.
