Pakistan blast video: Horrific suicide explosion caught on cam in a political meet at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 44 dead

Pakistan's law & order came under scrutiny on Sunday once again after a powerful blast triggered by a suicide bomber claimed at least 44 lives and injured nearly 100 at a rally of a hardline Islamic party in a restive tribal district of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan. The Pakistan suicide blast is among the many which have jolted the nation in the past year. As per reports, the suicide bombing took place at 4 pm at the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) workers' convention in Khar, the capital of Bajaur tribal district.

DIG police Malakand Range Nasir Mehmud Satti was quoted by a newswire who informed that the explosion was carried out by a suicide bomber. Furthermore, reports revealed that 12 kg of explosives were used in the blast. After the blast the area was sealed and a search operation was also initiated. It is pertinent to mention here that no terror group has yet claimed responsibility for the deadly attack. Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the blast at the JUI-F convention. He said terrorists targeted those who advocated the cause of Islam, the Holy Quran, and Pakistan. Now, a video is doing rounds on social media which shows how panic and people started running when suicide bombing took place at the political convention.

Who was on target in the Pakistan suicide blast?

As per reports, Maulana Ziaullah, the local chief of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s party died in the suicide blast. Interestingly, other leaders like Abdur Rasheed and former lawmaker Maulana Jamaluddin were also on the stage but escaped unhurt. Party officials claimed that party supremo Rehman was not present in the rally.For those who are unaware, 70-year-old Maulana Fazlur Rehman is considered to be a pro-Taliban cleric and his political party is part of the ruling coalition government. Keeping in mind the next general elections in Pakistan scheduled in the coming days, political rallies are being organised to mobilise supporters.
