In a massive development, Pakistan on Thursday night, after 8 pm, launched suicide drone attacks targeting multiple civilian areas and army bases in Jammu, Rajasthan, and Pathankot. According to reports, Pakistani drones attempted to strike the Jammu Airport and the Pathankot Air Force Station. In a swift response, India’s advanced S-400 air defense system successfully intercepted and neutralized all incoming drones, preventing any reported damage or casualties at the targeted locations.
Amid the drone strikes, a full blackout was enforced in Jammu from 8 PM onwards as a precautionary measure. Simultaneously, heavy shelling was reported from Pakistan's side in the R.S. Pura sector. Local residents in border areas confirmed hearing multiple loud explosions during the night.
In a related development, Pakistan also launched drone attacks in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. In a significant military response, Indian forces shot down a Pakistani F-16 fighter jet near the Jammu region (True Scoop cannot verify this claim as it has been reported by various news media, and for confirmation official statement from the government needs to come).
As a result of the heightened threat perception, all border districts in Rajasthan have been placed under blackout. Meanwhile, states including Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, and Rajasthan remain on high alert, with security forces deployed in large numbers along the International Border and Line of Control.
