After the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput on June 14, more than 80,000 fake social media accounts were created on different platforms to defame the ongoing Mumbai Police investigation and the Maharashtra government. The Mumbai Police Commissioner has asked the cyber cell to register such cases under the IT Act and investigate it.

Talking to a media channel, Param Bir Singh said that the cyber cell has identified thousands of fake profiles which were often used to create a bogus trend for Sushant Singh Rajput. It was used to manipulate and defame the Mumbai Police as well. The number of fake profiles can even go to lakhs.  The accounts were used from India as well as from outside India. Seeing by the number of fake profiles we can say that the trends which we saw on the social media sights for justice for Sushant Singh Rajput might be bogus.
