Pargat Singh urges Congress High Command to send AICC observer to review ongoing crisis

He said that under the supervision of AICC observer, Punjab CM should call a meeting of all MLAs

The ongoing turmoil in the Punjab Congress unit continues as four ministers -Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria, Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa and Charanjit Singh Channi reached Dehradun in the morning to apprise Rawat about the mood of the public against the Amarinder Singh-led government in the state. 

On Tuesday, in a closed door meeting held at the residence of Minister Tript Rajinder Bajwa, they opened a revolt against Punjab CM and demanded replacement of Amarinder Singh as he failed to fulfill the 2017 poll promises. 

The four ministers have sought a meeting with Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi, to discuss the unfulfilled poll-promises and among other issues in the Punjab Congress unit.

Speaking to media persons, Congress MLA Pargat Singh declared there was resentment among party legislators in Punjab. Pargat Singh said, "I suggest that Congress high command under the supervision of AICC observer, CM should call a meeting of all MLAs and decide after discussing with them."

Pargat Singh, a confidant of PPCC Chief Navjot Sidhu, has been recently made general secretary (organisation) of the party's state unit. He was also present in the meeting led by Tript Bajwa yesterday and said the issue of unfulfilled poll promises must be addressed at the earliest.

Meanwhile, Harish Rawat has clarified that ongoing disputes will be resolved soon; and the Punjab Elections 2022 will be contested under CM Captain Amarinder Singh’s leadership.
