Parliament security breach: Amritsar MP shows courage; throws smoke bomb out of the parliament

In the security breach that occurred on the 22nd anniversary of the attack on Parliament, Amritsar MP Gurjit Aujla picked up a color bomb thrown by the two invaders and threw it out.

In the security breach that occurred on the 22nd anniversary of the attack on Parliament,  Amritsar MP Gurjit Aujla picked up a color bomb thrown by the two invaders and threw it out. Another MP Beniwal caught a young man who was moving towards the speaker.

Aujla said after the attack that the last moments of zero hour were going on. When the two men jumped from above, he was sitting in the front. there was a noise which caught his attention. One of the attackers had jumped and the other was about to jump. The one who jumped first was moving towards the speaker. He started taking off his shoe which had something in it. But when he got near MP Beniwal, he caught him.

He said that he realized that other one was behind him who then threw the bomb. It emitted smoke which was yellow in color. Aujla immediately picked it up and threw it out, disregarding his own safety but protecting everyone else’s. Seconds later the second attacker was caught.

Slogans were raised to stop dictatorship

MP Aujla showed his hand and said that the yellow color in his hand is from the same color bomb. He has not smelled it nor has he washed it off. The speaker asked him not to do so. He will wash his hands only after inspection.

Aujla told that the attcakers were also raising slogans in the House. They were raising slogans to stop dictatorship. But the slogans did not get much attention because everyone was busy trying to catch them.

Questions raised on the security of the new Parliament

MP Aujla has raised questions on the security of the new Parliament. He said that this  incident is a big security lapse. Ever since this new Parliament was formed, it has been facing problems. There is only one way to enter and exit. This was not the case in the old Parliament, there these things were taken care of.
