Two unidentified men attacked an Uber driver in Trissur, Kerala late on Monday night. Two attackers also stole the vehicle, which was recovered by the police later. The attackers managed to flee. The driver has sustained injuries on his head.

The two attackers had boarded Uber driver Rajesh's taxi from the KSRTC bus stand in Thrissur. Around 01:20 am when the taxi reached Pudukkad, one of the passengers sprayed some substances at the driver, while the other one hit him on his head.

The two threatened Rajesh and forced him to step down as they fled with the taxi.

Rajesh informed the police control room. When the police arrived they took Rajesh to the hospital.

Meanwhile, a highway patrol police team chased the vehicle. To escape the arrest, the attackers abandoned the vehicle at Kalady and escaped.

The police have sought passenger details from Uber.
