In a massive development, 'Expelled' Shiv Sena leader Harsh Singla on Friday was arrested after he carried out a march against the 'pro-Khalistan'. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann chaired a High-Level meeting with the state's DGP and top officials, following which he ordered a probe into the Patiala Violence. Notably, the session to arrest former Shiv Sena leader Harsh Singla was taken in the same meeting. As per reports, Harsh Singla carried out the anti-Khalistan march without any permission. 

What happened in Patiala? 


Clashes broke out in Punjab's Patiala and a tense situation prevailed after stones were hurled and swords were brandished. The clashes broke out between two groups near Kali Mata temple in the city on Friday. It occurred when the Shiv Sena was carrying out a march, under the supervision of Punjab Shiv Sena working president Harish Singla without permission. Amidst the violence between two groups, various viral video shows that pro-Khalistan chants were raised as well. 

It is pertinent to mention here that the Shiv Sena has ousted its Punjab working president Harish Singla, who was reportedly responsible for leading the 'Khalistan Murdabad' march over 'anti-party activities.'

Punjab  CM Mann condemned the incident and termed it "deeply unfortunate". He also claimed that as per his conversation with the DGP, peace had been restored in the area and that the situation was being 'closely monitored.' After the clashes, Bhagwant Mann also assured that attempts to create 'disturbance' in the state would not be allowed by his government.
