Pearl V Puri Rape Case: Victim's lawyer said ‘Girl’s medical exam confirmed rape, she herself identified accused’

After an FIR was filed against him for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl, television actor Pearl V Puri was detained on Friday night (June 4) by Waliv Police Station under the POCSO act.

After Pearl's arrest, a slew of celebrities took to social media to seek justice for him. Divya Khosla Kumar, who co-starred with Pearl in his song "Teri Aankhon Mein," also expressed her support in a series of posts and went on to make some stunning revelations about the issue, claiming that Pearl is being wrongfully accused and punished due to a marital conflict.

Meanwhile, Ekta Kapoor's discussion with the accused victim's mother was recorded and leaked. In the audiotape, Ekta was pleading with the girl's mother to come forward and speak the truth; the girl's mother claims in the recording that she knows Pearl is innocent. She goes on to say that her estranged spouse is deliberately bringing up the actor's name in order to malign her image.

The victim's father has given an exclusive statement in the interview on the situation, which was provided with by his lawyer, and it goes as follows:

"On behalf of my client, Mr. Ashish A. Dubey, an advocate for the father of a 5-year-old girl in the Pearl V Puri case, I would like to make an official statement. The child, who is 5 years old, was in the care of the mother for 5 months and the father had no contact with the child at all. When her father went to school to pay her school fees one day, the youngster ran up to him and said she was terrified and wanted to go with him. When the father saw the child's fear, he brought her home. When the child returned home, she told what had occurred to her.

The father immediately called police, and a medical evaluation of the child at Nair Hospital proved that the child is telling the truth about the abuse. The accused was identified via the child's screen name (Ragbir). Because the father does not watch TV serials, he had no idea who he was, and he had no idea that Ragbir was someone's screen name. After further examination, it was discovered that Ragbir is an actor's stage name, and his real name is Pearl Puri.

The girl refused to look at images of other actors when they were shown to her. When the girl saw Ragbir's (Pearl Puri) photograph, she acknowledged it was him.

Police spoke with the child afterward, and she was even forced to meet with the magistrate alone to record 164 statements. The girl verified the same tale and identified the same guy in front of the court. The youngster also told the magistrate that she immediately informed her mother about the situation. The mother shouted at Ragbir.

I'd like to make a few points on behalf of my client since important people have spread fake rumours and accusations about him on social media.

1) The child rushed to her father for assistance. So, like a caring and loving father, my client paid attention to his daughter's problem and accompanied her to the police station for a medical done. Is that a mistake or a crime?

2) My client (the father of the child) never mentioned anyone's name. The accused was named by the girl child.

3) The child reported the incident, and a medical evaluation determined that she was telling the truth. So, where does my client (the girl's father) go wrong in verifying her complaint? The girl's mother was also summoned to the Nair hospital for medical treatment, and she was present. Why would a 5-year-old lie about this? My question to all the powerful individuals on social media on behalf of my client is this: if your 5-year-old child reports this kind of occurrence, would you not follow the same method that my client did for your own child?

4) Making accusations about a broken marriage, a toxic relationship, or a horrible husband to deflect attention away from the reality that the child has been raped is completely false. What happened to the child has nothing to do with whether the marriage is good or terrible. Why is it that the child told the truth, which was validated by the medical report?

5) The topic of conversation should be that a 5-year-old child was molested, and the molester should be punished. Everything else is a waste of time.

6) Would any other parent try to fight for the child's justice if prominent people create such animosity toward the girl child's accusation against such a heinous crime?

All of these claims have profoundly upset my client, who is a middle-class man because he is waging this battle alone to support the child. Is it such a major crime to seek justice for a 5-year-old child who was raped that everyone is passing judgment on the father rather than learning the facts from the police?

My client asks that everyone stop accusing my daughter of being a liar instead and allow the Court to do its job."
