DeputyCommissioner Ghanshyam Thori, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar,and Senior Superintendent of Police (Jalandhar Rural) Sandeep Kumar Garg onWednesday launched the second phase of Covid vaccination drive for otherFrontline warriors after they received Covid jab in session site at ShaheedBabu Labh Singh Civil Hospital.

Underthe second phase of the Covid vaccination drive, 17748 other frontline warriorsincluding civil, police officials of Jalandhar have been already registered atthe Cowin app and would be covered in the coming days.

Thetop brass of the civil and police administration not only received Covidvaccine but also followed all mandatory protocols.

Accompaniedby Civil Surgeon Dr. Balwant Singh, Medical Superintendent Dr. Parminder Kaur,Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori said that the health department has set upsix-session sites for covering the other Frontline warriors at Community HealthCentres (CHC) Dada Colony, Khurla Kingra, Basti Guzan, PAP,  Phillaur and Civil Hospital, Jalandhar.

Hesaid the elaborate arrangements have been made by the district administrationfor a smooth and hassle-free immunization drive. He said that the districtadministration has built the capacity to store over 12 lakh vaccines with allpoints linked with cooling features to maintain the required temperature forthe vaccine.

Hesaid this is the beginning of the end of the Covid-19 pandemic and urged peoplenot to fall prey to the rumours regarding vaccination as this vaccine is safeand efficacious. He said the nearly 7000 health workers have been covered underthe first phase of inoculation drive and others are getting Covid shot as perschedule.

Commissionerof Police Gurpreet Singh Bhullar and Senior Superintendent of Police (JalandharRural) Sandeep Kumar Garg said the all the employees of the force have done acommendable job during curfew and lockdown in the Covid pandemic and served thepeople through distribution of food packets, medicines, and other essentials attheir doorsteps by putting their own lives at the risk.

Theyexhorted all the employees of the department to come forward and take Covidjab.

Meanwhile,Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gurmeet Singh, Additional DeputyCommissioner of Police Jagjit Singh Saroya, Assistant Commissioners of Police(ACPs) Bimal Kant, Harsimrat Singh, and others also received Covid vaccine.

Asper health department, 246 other frontline warriors received the Covid vaccineon Wednesday.
