PM Narendra Modi says, “Everyone will be vaccinated, no one will be left behind”

The expert group will monitor the distribution of covid-19 vaccine through 28,000 cold chain points. The government will ensure better storage and that vaccine is reached to the last point.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced that every citizen in the country will be vaccinated once the coronavirus vaccine is available, promising that no one will be left behind in the vaccination process. 

The Prime Minister has also said that a national expert group has been constituted to manage the distribution and administration of the vaccine and frame a strategy for the same. 

“I would like to assure the nation that, as and when a vaccine becomes available, everyone will be vaccinated. No one will be left behind. Of course, initially, we may focus on protecting the most vulnerable frontline workers. A National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for Covid-19 has been constituted to chart the way forward.” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an interview. 

While speaking on the discharge of huge amounts of and making the coronavirus vaccine reach the entire population of India, PM Narendra Modi said, “On logistics, more than 28,000 cold chain points will store and distribute Covid-19 vaccines to ensure they reach the last point. Dedicated teams at state, district and local levels will see to it that vaccine distribution and administration is done in a systematic and accountable manner.”

Adding onto the conversation PM Modi said that developing the covid-19 vaccine is still a work in progress and trials are on across the world. PM Modi also said that experts will guide the administration on how to approach the distribution of coronavirus vaccine among citizens.

Around 150 coronavirus vaccines are at different stages of clinical trials, across the world. Two indigenous coronavirus vaccines being produced in India are undergoing clinical trials which include Covaxin.  

Bharat Biotech is developing COVAXIN and another one by Zydus Cadila. India is also conducting clinical trials of the Oxford-AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine in few cities across the country.
