Prime Minister Narendra Modi before leaving for theUnited State to have first ever meet with President Joe Biden, said this visitwould serve as an occasion to strengthen the comprehensive global strategicpartnership with the US.

 
He further said that the visit would be an occasion toconsolidate relations with our strategic partners - Japan and Australia - andto take forward our collaboration on important global issues.

 
In a departure statement, the Prime Minister said he willbe visiting the US from September 22-25 at the invitation of President JoeBiden.

 
"During my visit, I will review the India-USComprehensive Global Strategic Partnership with President Biden and exchangeviews on regional and global issues of mutual interest. I am also lookingforward to meeting Vice President Kamala Harris to explore opportunities forcooperation between our two nations particularly in the area of science andtechnology," Modi said.

 
The Prime Minister mentioned that he will participate inthe first in-person Quad Leaders' Summit along with President Biden, PrimeMinister of Australia Scott Morrison and Prime Minister of Japan YoshihideSuga.

 
"The Summit provides an opportunity to take stock ofthe outcomes of our Virtual Summit in March this year and identify prioritiesfor future engagements based on our shared vision for the Indo-Pacificregion," he said.

 
Prime Minister Modi said that he will meet Prime MinisterMorrison and Prime Minister Suga to take stock of the strong bilateralrelations with their respective countries and continue our useful exchanges onregional and global issues. "I will conclude my visit with an address atthe United Nations General Assembly focusing on the pressing global challengesincluding the Covid-19 pandemic, the need to combat terrorism, climate changeand other important issues," he said.

"My visit to the US would be an occasion tostrengthen the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership with the USA,consolidate relations with our strategic partners - Japan and Australia - andto take forward our collaboration on important global issues," heconcluded.
