Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday delivered his longest-ever speech in the parliament while speaking against the No-Confidence motion tabled by the I.N.D.I.A block. As per reports, PM Modi addressed the Lok Sabha for a total of 2 hours and 12 minutes which is the most by him in his Prime Ministerial career. From the historic debacle of the congress, opposition alliance I.N.D.I.A and the burning Manipur issue, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on almost every topic. Before addressing the Manipur issue, PM Modi lashed out the opposition especially Congress & Rahul Gandhi for his remark 'Bharat Mata Ki Hatya'. After days of demand by the opposition, PM Modi broke his silence on the ongoing violence in Manipur after a span of 1 hour and 52 minutes during his speech. Below is what PM Modi said on Manipur issue-

Addressing the Lok Sabha amidst a massive uproar, PM Modi said, "Both the state and central governments are doing everything possible to ensure that the accused get the strictest punishment. I want to assure the people that the Sun of peace will be restored soon in Manipur in the coming days. I want to tell the people of Manipur, including women and daughters of Manipur, that the country is with you." Prime Minister also highlighted that the ongoing ethnic clashes in Manipur are a result of the Congress' regime in the state and its wrong policies.

"We had asked them (Opposition) to come for a discussion on Manipur. The Home Minister had written a letter, asking them to hold a discussion on Manipur. But they didn't have the courage and intention. There was an intention to send a message of peace to the people of Manipur in Amit Shah's message (Lok Sabha speech)...The politics of Congress is responsible for the condition in Manipur. Congress party is the mother of all problems in the Northeast."

PM Modi further said, "Manipur had become the victim of ethnic clashes during the erstwhile Congress regime. There was a time in Manipur when everything used to be run by insurgents. Whose government was it at that time? What has happened in Manipur is painful, but no one should play politics on it." A report suggests that PM Modi in his more than 2-hour-long speech took the name of Congress approx 50 times, Janata (Public) 26 times, Sarkar (Government) 20 times, Manipur 18 times, Avishwas Prastav (No Confidence Motion) 9 times, Modi 8 times, I.N.D.I.A 7 times, Gandhi 5 times, and more.
