As the time for a major reconstitution in Modi 2.0’s cabinet approaches the party’s high command is up on its toes to frame the new cabinet in the BJP-led NDA before the final bell of the 2024 general election rings in.

This team will lead the party in 10 state assembly elections this year and in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. In view of this, it is believed that Union Ministers Bhupendra Yadav, Dharmendra Pradhan, and Anurag Thakur may get new and important responsibilities. Similarly, CR Patil, who is considered the strategist of Gujarat elections, can be brought in an important role in Delhi.

As per the reports, it is not yet decided whether he will get an important position in the organization or will be made a cabinet minister. At the same time, a new place is also being looked for the Union Energy Minister RK Singh.

There is silence in the party on the issue of who will leave, and who will join. For now, it is only PM Modi and his second in command the Union Home Minister Amit Shah knows about it.

From January 20, the BJP, which is gearing up for the general elections, will deploy central ministers in the 436 Lok Sabha seats it contested in the last elections. The minister will stay there for three days on a rotation basis and review the central schemes. Sources say that each minister will be responsible for 7-8 seats. They will have to prepare a report after gathering information about the implementation of the welfare schemes of the center and its impact on the local people there.

If reports are to be believed in the following course of action the organization will be making a Twitter handle by the name of that particular Lok Sabha and will be adding 50,000 followers to it. Through social media, the BJP will try to establish a constructive dialogue with youth, religious scholars, and several communities for the party’s welfare.

This year there are elections in Karnataka, Telangana, MP-CG Rajasthan, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Tripura. Jammu and Kashmir might also go to the polls. The major challenge before the party is to save the government in 6 of these states. In such a situation, there will be an emphasis on giving representation to the leaders there in the cabinet. The clear-cut indications show that the government might show the exit doors to the non-performing ministers from Modi’s top team.

Here’s what can we get to see in the new cabinet reshuffle:

• Lack of experienced, dynamic leaders in the organization. So at least 3 cabinet ministers can be brought into the organization.

• Reports indicate that the party’s high command is planning to bring in a former bureaucrat to the cabinet.

• Representation of Women is most likely to increase.

• Leaders from the states like Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh-Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan will find a place in the cabinet.

• An additional charge of at least 5 ministers can be reduced.

• Preference will be given to the leaders from OBC, SC, and ST communities.

• The Ministry of Minority Affairs will be given to a non-Muslim minority representative.

• Those who played an important role in Gujarat's victory will be rewarded.

• The effect of defeat in the Himachal-Delhi MCD elections will be clearly visible.

• Shiv Sena's Shinde faction may be given a place in the reorganization.

• BJP’s top brass will look up to place its party functionaries post the vacant seat of JDU leaders.

When is the reconstitution?

The meeting of the National Executive is on January 16-17. Nadda is completing his term on 23rd January. The budget session is scheduled to begin on January 31. In that manner, the cabinet reshuffle is most likely to take place anywhere between January 18th to 25th.
