Doctors Day: PM Narendra Modi thanked medical fraternity for their ‘exemplary’ service during pandemic

We have come up with a Credit Guarantee Scheme of Rs 50,000 crores to strengthen the health infrastructure in such areas where there is a lack of health facilities

The Prime Minister speaks about the ‘exemplary’ service which the doctors did during the Covid-19 pandemic, saving the lives of many for over one and a half years, and thanked them for their restless efforts which they did. He also paid tribute to the ones he laid down their lives in the process of saving others.


“Service rendered by doctors in last one-and-a-half years is exemplary; I thank them on behalf of 130 Crore Indians… Our doctors, their knowledge and experience are helping us in battling this virus,” he said.

Narendra Modi also admitted that the nation has doubled the funds put in the medical sectors by saying, "We have come up with a Credit Guarantee Scheme of Rs 50,000 crores to strengthen the health infrastructure in such areas where there is a lack of health facilities,”

“Today, our doctors are making and implementing protocols for Covid-19. Earlier, we all saw how medical infrastructure was ignored. Despite all problems, India’s condition was somewhere stable than other developed countries,” he stated which clearly tells how much the people took the medical department lightly but now due to COVID the citizens have realized their significance.

He also gave a surety that the safety and security of the doctors and other medical fraternity would be protected by the government authorities which he said when he talked about the violence happening around.

On National Doctors’ Day, PM Modi urged the doctors to take up research, documentation on benefits of vaccines, early diagnosis, and specific treatments. He also said, 'The medical fraternity has come forward to spread awareness about Yoga'.

“On Doctors Day, my greetings to all doctors. India's strides in the world of medicine are commendable and have contributed to making our planet healthier.” This is a recent acknowledgement which the Prime Minister made earlier in the day by linking a video from one of his previous Mann ki Baat which was held a few days ago.  

The first National Doctor’s day was celebrated on 1st July 1991 which also marks both births as well as the death anniversary of the most famous physician of India -Dr. BC Roy.

Rahul Gandhi, the Congress leader also showed gratitude to the doctors for their contribution. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said, “The debt of doctors who served people day and night during the coronavirus pandemic cannot be repaid”
