SC to include DGP Chandigarh, IG National Investigation Agency, Registrar General of Punjab and Haryana HC and ADGP (Security) of Punjab to probe the Ferozepur PM security breach matter
 
The bench was headed by CJI NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kanta and Justice Hima Kohli.
 
In the security breach matter of the PM that occurred on the 5th January, the SC to form an independent committee to probe into the matter. SC has further instructed both, centre and the state of Punjab to not continue with their inquiries into the matter. 
 
SC has asserted—“ Yes there is a breach and Punjab govt has admitted as well. The question is if an inquiry is held, what will be its scope. If you want to take disciplinary action against officers what remains for this court to look into?”
 
This was Modi's first visit to the state after the repeal of three contentious farm laws.


In a major security breach, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday cancelled his visit to Ferozepur town in Punjab, where he was scheduled to lay the foundation stones of Rs 42,750 crore projects, at the last minute.
