
Day after farmer unions have claimed they have reached a breakthrough with the police of Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, a farmer leader said that protesting farmers don't need police permission to take out tractor rallies on Republic Day.
Satnam Singh Panu of Punjab Kisan Sangharsh Committee said the protesting farmers would take out the tractor rally on Delhi's Outer Ring Road on Republic Day, adding that many other farmers from neighbouring parts are coming to Delhi to join them for the Republic Day tractor rally.
"Many farmers are coming to Delhi for the Republic Day tractor rally. We will conduct the rally on Delhi's Outer Ring Road, it doesn't matter whether Delhi Police gives permission or not," Satnam Singh Panu was quoted by ANI.
A day before, farmers had claimed that they "were able to jointly finalise routes for the Republic Day parade".
Routes where farmers are likely to hold the R-day tractor rally
Reports say that the Delhi Police and farmers have agreed to hold the tractor rally on certain routes.
Four routes have been suggested for the Republic Day tractor rally.
