Madhya Pradesh: Baratis punished, made to do ‘Frog Jump’ for violating Covid curfew rules

After Tripura, now cops made baraatis do frog jump in Bhind, Madhya Pradesh. Bhind police have come up with a unique idea for punishing the violators of Covid-19 protocols. On Wednesday, Police officials punished people who attended a wedding ceremony.

The baraatis were made to do frog jump for 100 metres. The wedding was organized in the Bhind district, violated the Covid restrictions. On getting the information about the wedding, police raided the venue and found that around 300 people were present at the wedding function. 

Many of the guests managed to escape but some of them were rounded by the police and were punished and made to do ‘Frog jump’ before release. Earlier, police warned the organizer and attendees not to organize or attend any such gathering till lockdown restrictions have been imposed in the town. The police have registered a case against the organizer. 

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), ML Kushwaha said that the organizers were warned not to organize weddings as lockdown restriction is enforced in the district and public gathering is banned. He said, “We had got information in the morning. A team was sent and organizers were warned. Yet, they organized the wedding.” 

“According to the district administration’s order, the wedding ceremony is banned till next orders”, he added.
