Students of Cambridge International School Jalandhar pledge to stop using plastic under 'Poly End 2020'

Jalandhar: In a pursuit to curb the use of plastic 'Poly End 2020' action camp initiated by True Scoop News along with Municipal Corporation Jalandhar was organised in Cambridge International School, Choti Baradari, Jalandhar. True Scoop is calling it ' “Action Camps” because it time we start talking less & doing more. This action camp was based on action-oriented solutions & practical alternatives to plastic. 

The program was gracioused by Mr Varinder Kumar Sharma (Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar), Mrs Babita Kaler (Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation), Mr Ramesh Mittal (Chairman of Lovely Group), Mr Nitin Kohli (Chairman of Cambridge International School), Mr Deepak Bhatia (Vice-Chairman of Cambridge International School), Dr Ravinder Mahal (Principal of Cambridge International School), Miss. Khyati Kohli (MD of True Scoop News).

In this action camp, the True Scoop team alerted school children about plastic-borne diseases. The camp also conducted some plastic-based activities and urged children to stop using plastic. DC  Varinder Kumar Sharma enlightened students of Cambridge by telling them how plastic is affecting our daily lives. He also shared information about growing problems due to plastic all over the world and urged them to stop using plastic immediately.

Additional Commissioner Babita Kaler told children to stop asking for plastic anywhere they go, instead start using alternatives. MD of True Scoop Khyati Kohli shared some alternatives that students can introduce into their daily lives by which they can avoid using plastic. She also asked 10 students to volunteer and bring whatever plastic items present in their school premises and throw them into the Plastic Monster (trashbin for plastic). She mentioned how children can take selfies at selfie points installed at various restaurants of Jalandhar to support the campaign.
