After the Attorney General, KK Venogopal, made astatement in the Apex Court that some Khalistani (secessionist) elements haveinfiltrated the farmers protest at Delhi and the inputs received by Delhipolice that Khalistani or Al-Qaeda terrorists might spoil the peace on January26, the Delhi police have started putting posters of wanted terrorists inDelhi.

Siddharth Jain, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP)for Connaught Place, was quoted by ANI, he said, "We have inputs that someterrorist organisations including Khalistani outfits and Al-Qaeda may carry outunwanted activities on January 26. Keeping this in mind, we have taken a fewsteps including putting up posters of wanted terrorists."

In the wake of security alert issued by the police, patrollingof the areas in Delhi is intensified and the Resident Welfare Associations havebeen cautioned against any suspected activity in the city.

The ACP further said, "Amid the COVID pandemic, wehave tried to reduce the gathering of people from 1.5 lakh to 25 thousand. Onlylimited people have been issued passes and tickets for the Republic Day parade.They have been asked to carry their photo-based ID card for the verificationprocess. No person will be allowed to stand, only sitting arrangements havebeen made."

The Delhi Police have issued several guidelines in thecontext of Republic day and Covid-19 again.
