In yet another incident that can shame humanity, a tribal woman was stripped naked and paraded in a village in Pratapgarh district by her husband and in-laws on Friday. The 21-year-old woman was beaten and then his clothes were torn down while she kept screaming for help. Now, Pratapgarh video is spreading like wildfire on social media with netizens in massive anger against the Rajasthan State Government, the Police officials and even the villagers who did not intervene in the matter. After the Pratapgarh Tribal woman video went viral on social media, Rajasthan Police took cognizance of the matter. Pratapgarh tribal woman video sparked massive outrage and therefore, Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said he directed the director general of police to send the ADG (Crime) to the spot and take strict action in this matter.

As per reports, the Rajasthan Police arrested 3 individuals in the case on Saturday including the woman's husband, in connection with the incident. As per the cops, the accused tried to flee from the spot when the Police arrived and therefore the accused got injured during that. Currently, they are undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Pratapgarh after which they will be produced in court. Dhariyawad SHO Peshawar Khan was quoted by a newswire saying that initial investigation revealed that the woman was in a relationship with another man, adding that the incident took place on Thursday.

As per Rajasthan DGP Umesh Mishra, the victim's in-laws kidnapped her and took her to their village where the incident took place. Her in-laws were annoyed as she was staying with another man. It is pertinent to mention here that, apart from being beaten and stripped, the woman was paraded naked in the village as well. A similar kind of incident had taken place in Manipur which had garnered global headlines. Notably, PM Modi after the Manipur horrific incident had issued a stern warning to all the states to ensure the safety of women. However, seeing the Pratapgarh incident, it can be said that PM Modi's warning fell on deaf ears.

Rajasthan Women Commission Rehana Riyaz was quoted saying, " "...The Women's Commission has taken cognizance of the viral video. We have spoken to Pratapgarh SP and administrative officers. Nine of the accused have been arrested, and the remaining will also be arrested soon. Women's Commission will never take such heinous crimes lightly... The commission will monitor the case daily. I and my team are leaving for Pratapgarh... We will take strict action so that no one dares to commit such a crime in the future..."

The victim's father was quoted saying, "The incident took place the day before yesterday. They (the accused) tore her clothes...Later, they came to drop her home around 11 pm. There were four to five people. I do not know their names. (Accused) is her husband."

BJP national president JP Nadda also expressed his anger and wrote, "The video from Pratapgarh, Rajasthan is shocking. What is worse is, governance in Rajasthan is totally absent. The CM and Ministers are busy settling factional squabbles, and the remaining time is spent appeasing one dynasty in Delhi. It's no wonder the issue of women’s safety is being completely ignored in the state. Every single day, there is an instance of harassment against women. The people of Rajasthan will teach the state Government a lesson."
