Adipurush is an upcoming mythological based on the epic saga of Ramayana. It is one of the most-awaited movies of the year 2023. According to the media reports the film is already a hit as it has been receiving an immense amount of love. The movie is based around 7,000 years ago when Ayodhya’s prince Raghava and his brother Lakshmana travel to the island of Lanka with the help of Bajrang's army with the aim to rescue Raghava's wife Janaki, who had been kidnapped by Lankesh, the demon king of Lanka. The movie’s theme revolves around the victory of good over evil.

Release Date

Om Raut’s directed movie features Prabhas, Saif Ali Khan, Kriti Sanon, and Sunny Singh as lead characters. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, it is all set to bring the world of Ramayana alive in the big screen on June 16, 2023. The advance bookings of the movie are finally open and more than 10,727 tickets in advance collection across 187 locations have been sold in the US, with this gross now stands at about ₹2 crores.

The film will make its world premiere at the 2023 edition of the Tribeca Festival in New York on 13 June. The Tribeca Festival is taking place from June 7 till June 18. The jury of the festival has chosen Adipurush to make its premiere at the fest. Adipurush is not just a film, rather it is an emotion. The trailer boasts impressive visuals and is expected to feature a mix of live-action and cutting-edge visual effects. The film aims to bring the epic tale to life on a grand scale and has garnered a lot of attention due to its star-studded cast and high production value.

The makers have stated that it is believed that Lord Hanuman is present whenever Ramayan is recited or showcased on Earth. So, with this belief all the theatres screening the film are reserving one seat for Lord Hanuman in every show. The film is budgeted at Rs. 500 crores making it one of the most expensive Indian films ever made.
