President of India, Droupadi Murmu reached Amritsar on Thursday morning. She was welcomed by Punjab CM Mann and Governor B.L. Purohit. After reaching Amritsar, Murmu paid obeisance at Shri Harmandir Sahib. Before her visit, proper security checks were made and a large number of security personnel were deployed prior to her visit. Apart from Golden Temple, Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Durgiana Temple and Bhagwan Valmiki Ram Tirath Sathal during her visit.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Amritsar Parminder Singh Bhandal informed about the traffic restrictions during President’s visit. Reportedly, the route from Sri Guru Ram Das International airport to Golden Temple would be closed between 12 pm to 1 pm. Later, the same route will be closed from 3 pm to 4 pm.
