After the incident came into limelight, the primary school teacher registered a police complaint against 5 people. District TMC leadership has expelled Amal Sarkar, who was accused of being a part of the group which assaulted the teacher.

In one of the most shocking incident, a primary school teacher in Gangrampur of South Dinajpur dist was tied with a rope, dragged and was brutally thrashed by a group of people, allegedly including a local TMC leader Amal Sarkar, after she protested against their bid to acquire her land forcibly for construction of a road.
