After the Confederation ofAll India Traders (CAIT) objected to the new privacy policy of WhatsApp, themessaging app has issued a clarification that it stays end to end encrypted.

Will Cathcart, head ofWhatsApp writes in a thread of tweets, " I've been watchinga bunch of discussion this week about the privacy policy update we’re in theprocess of making @WhatsApp and wanted to share some thoughts."

Cathcart further mentionsthat the messages and calls will remain end to end encrypted. He also writesthat they have updated their policy to be more transparent and to betterdescribe optional people-to-business features. He adds, "This updatedescribes business communication and doesn't change WhatsApp's data sharingpractices with Facebook. It doesn't impact how people communicate privatelywith friends or family...in the world."

CAIT has demanded torestrict WhatsApp from implementing its new policy update. The Facebook familyapp also faced flak on social media by activists and users alike. It trended onTwitter when the platform announced privacy policy update.

According to media platformsand expert reports, WhatsApp for the time being is encrypted that means yourfiles, calls, messages or chats are private and safe.
