Piryanka Chopra appeared in "The Late Show with StephenColbert," to promote his upcoming film The White Tiger. According to areport published in The Indian Express, Chopra and Colbert discussed topicsranging from politics to entertainment among others.
When the host of the show asked how Chopra felt afterHarris became first female, South-Asian and Black Vice President. He was quotedby The Indian Express, “As a South Asian woman yourself, what did it mean toyou, to see the new vice president to be the first female, first South Asian,first African American vice president?”
Priyanka Chopra responded, “Couple of things… it was suchan emotional moment for a lot of my friends and family but coming from acountry like India which has seen several women in governance, whether it isPresident, Prime Minister…You know, welcome to the club, America. That’s whatI’ll say. High time, I hope this isn’t the first.”
Chopra added, “I hope there are many, many because thisis what governance should look like. Leadership looks amazing especially whenit is diverse and reflective of what the world really looks like,”
