Protesting farmers try to attack cops with swords near Delhi’s Akshardham after police fired tear gas shells to stop them

Farmers protesting against the farm laws have started their tractor rally. The farmers part of the R-Day tractor parade tried to attack the Delhi Police officer with swords after they were fired with tear-gas near Delhi’s Akshardham.

The farmers brandished swords and clashed with the police deployed at Noida mod near Delhi's Akshardham after they were tear-gassed and lathi-charged.

A Farmers group that was trying to break past the barricades and crush barriers with tractors near Akshardham were fired with tear gas by the police deployed there. 

The farmers protesting retaliated by running towards the police personnel with their swords. 

A video of the incident shows the police officer used tear gas shells to stop the farmers. 

Meanwhile, police have lathi-charged the protesting farmers at Chintamani Chowk in Shahdara near Ghazipur border as they tried to push through the barricades with their tractors. '

In another incident, two farmers on a tractor overturned during performing a stunt at Delhi-Noida border. 

Thousands of farmers have been protesting against the three farm laws since late November, and have started their proposed first-ever kind tractor march in Delhi. 

After two meetings with Delhi police officials, the farmers were granted to carry the event.
