Jaswant Singh Dhaliwal State President in a press statement has urged the state government to discuss the matter with General Category Welfare Federation and other stakeholders before making any decision. There is great resentment among general and other backward class employees against the move of the Punjab Government.

Sukhpreet Singh Secretary General said that the Federation submitted an 11 point charter of demands to the PSPCL and PSTCL management and sought an immediate meeting to discuss the matter.

It may be mentioned that the Supreme Court in M Nagaraj’s case laid down the condition to exclude creamy layer of scheduled caste employees from the benefit of reservation in promotion was imposed. But to date even after lapses of more than 14 years, the government has not taken any decision regarding the creamy layer.
