PSWC CHIEF MEETS TWO WOMEN FOOD HAWKERS IN JALANDHAR, HANDS OVER APPRECIATION LETTERS

Punjab State Women Commission Chairperson Ms. Manisha Gulati today visited the city-based two women food hawkers, who have been running food stalls to feed their families.

Punjab State Women Commission Chairperson Ms. Manisha Gulati today visited the city-based two women food hawkers, who have been running food stalls to feed their families. 

Ms. Gulati visited the a 30-years old woman Neha of Gopal Nagar Jalandhar who has been running this food stall for the last sever months after lossing her job during to Covid-19 pandemic. The Chairperson visited her food stall and handed her over a appreciation letter from the commission. She also assured her of best possible help from the commission with respect to ensuring best education to her 15-years old daughter besides asking administration to help her by alloting a permanent booth in the city. She lauded her efforts for not loosing hope in desprate times as it is really hard for a single parent, especially a woman to survive. 

In another visit, she met Kanta Chauchan, 33, a resident of partap Nagar who is running a small food outlet near bus stand. She told the Chairperson that earlier she was working as a bike-taxi rider before lossing her job to Covid-19 pandemic. Now she is, with the help of some local women running this Parantha stall to feed her family. Ms. Gulati handed her over a appriciation letter and offered fulsome support from commission. Meanwhile, she took a ride with Kanta at her two wheeler which she was using as a bike-taxi earlier. 

The Chairperson also appealed to philanthropists to come forward to help these two women to get them rid from the hardships they are facing. She stated that the commission would soon write to district administration for providing them assistance on their endavours.
