Jalandhar, January 28- To hasten the implementation and completion of the developmental projects, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Thursday directed the officials to pull up socks and ensure all the ongoing works get complete within stipulated timelines so that the people of the district are benefited.
In a meeting with the officers of various departments in his office, the Deputy Commissioner warned that any kind of callousness in the completion of these works is unwarranted and undesirable.
He told them to ensure all the commitments get fulfilled at the earliest which would give massive development facelift and would provide ultra-modern civic facilities to its residents.
A video-conference was held by Chief Principal Secretary to CM Suresh Kumar with the deputy commissioner to review the progress of various projects.
The Deputy Commissioner told that district administration had proposed the construction of Railway under Bridge (RUB) to Northern Railway at Tanda Railway Crossing which falls on busiest Amritsar-Delhi route and now the railway has also given its sanction.

He sought immediate release of funds as the state’s share for the project and clarity over the executive agency of the RUB project following which it has been decided that PWD would be the nodal department for kick-starting and completing the project.
Further, Ghanshyam Thori also took up the issue of Dakoha railway crossing and told that PWD proposed construction of vehicular Underpass. Later, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Suresh Kumar asked the PWD department to write NHAI and railway for immediate approval of the projects.
The Deputy Commissioner also sought the release of funds for the various works undergoing at Sports College and Baba Sahib Bhim Rao Ambedkar Government College, Boota Mandi.
Further, the progress of the integrated command and control center (ICCC), Chugitti-Ladhewali ROB projects, and others were also discussed.
