Jalandhar, January 28- To hasten the implementation andcompletion of the developmental projects, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thorion Thursday directed the officials to pull up socks and ensure all the ongoingworks get complete within stipulated timelines so that the people of thedistrict are benefited.
In a meeting with the officers of various departments in hisoffice, the Deputy Commissioner warned that any kind of callousness in thecompletion of these works is unwarranted and undesirable.
He told them to ensure all the commitments get fulfilled atthe earliest which would give massive development facelift and would provideultra-modern civic facilities to its residents.
A video-conference was held by Chief Principal Secretary toCM Suresh Kumar with the deputy commissioner to review the progress of variousprojects.
The Deputy Commissioner told that district administrationhad proposed the construction of Railway under Bridge (RUB) to Northern Railwayat Tanda Railway Crossing which falls on busiest Amritsar-Delhi route and nowthe railway has also given its sanction.
He sought immediate release of funds as the state’s sharefor the project and clarity over the executive agency of the RUB projectfollowing which it has been decided that PWD would be the nodal department forkick-starting and completing the project.
Further, Ghanshyam Thori also took up the issue of Dakoharailway crossing and told that PWD proposed construction of vehicularUnderpass. Later, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Suresh Kumar asked the PWDdepartment to write NHAI and railway for immediate approval of the projects.
The Deputy Commissioner also sought the release of funds forthe various works undergoing at Sports College and Baba Sahib Bhim Rao AmbedkarGovernment College, Boota Mandi.
Further, the progress of the integrated command and controlcenter (ICCC), Chugitti-Ladhewali ROB projects, and others were also discussed.
