Normal life still at halt in Pulwama

The area has been under turmoil for few days

Pulwama Kashmir encounter

On Tuesday, Normal life remained crippled for the fourth successive day in parts of Pulwama, the south Kashmir. Here, six militants were killed in an encounter with security forces.

A police official said that security force personnel, who were deployed in some sensitive areas in south Kashmir to maintain law and order, have been withdrawn. Despite no strike call given by any separatist group, shops and business establishments were closed and traffic was off the roads in Tral town and adjoining areas for the fourth successive day against the militant killings.

Security forces remained deployed on Srinagar-Jammu National highway, connecting Kashmir valley with the rest of the country, for security reasons since early this morning. On Saturday, a deputy chief was among the six Ansar Ghazwatul Hind militants killed in an encounter with security forces which ensued after forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) at Tral in Pulwama.
