Pune is now new corona 'hot-spot' in India with maximum active cases

Pune, a city in Maharashtra, has now become the new coronavirus 'hot-spot' in India with maximum active cases. Earlier, Delhi had reported the maximum Covid-cases across the nation and was referred to as the 'corona-capital' of India. 

Till date, Pune has recorded the highest number of people getting infected with the pandemic. Pune's tally has reached 1,78,598 while Delhi's total case count stands at 1,77,060. 

Besides this, Pune also has the maximum number of active cases in the country i.e. 54,857 while Mumbai and Delhi have 20,067 and Delhi 15,870 active cases respectively.

Delhi, which has also witnessed a massive number of coronavirus cases, at present has 1,77,060 cases and 4,462 patients have succumbed till now. The Pune district, on Tuesday, observed 52 more Covid-related deaths in 24 hours, with which the death toll has increased to 4,173. 

According to the MohFW data, India's tally of coronavirus infections has surged to nearly 3.7 million. India continues to be third worst-hit by pandemic after the United States and Brazil. On Tuesday, the nation recorded the spike of 78,357 cases, taking the total tally to 37,69,524. On the other hand, the death toll in the nation now stands at 66,333, as per data of the Ministry of Health.
