Bank customers in Punjab are advised to plan their transactions carefully, as banks will observe several holidays, especially in the other half of the month of June.

On the specific dates, the banks across India will remain closed for holidays as well as other planned holidays. Here’s what you need to know to avoid any last-minute inconveniences:

Important dates of Bank holidays in June 2025  

  • Banks will remain closed on June 11 (Wednesday) on the occasion of Raja Sankranti in Aizawl, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Imphal, and Shimla. Although banks in Punjab are expecting a holiday on the same date for Bhagat Kabir Jayanti, no official notice has been released by the RBI or the Punjab state authorities.
  • June 14, Second Saturday Closure, which is followed by most of the banks.
  • There is a Sunday off on June 15 where banks will remain closed. 
  • Closed for Fourth Saturday/Bank Holiday on June 21 (Saturday). 
  • June 22 (Sunday) will also be a Sunday off. 
  • Closed on June 29 (Sunday). 

General information for customers

  • All banks remain closed on all Sundays and Second and Fourth Saturdays of each month in observance of RBI regulations. 
  • Other public holidays and any other festival are not allotted in June.
  • Kindly make all your standard banking transactions before these dates. 

Digital banking will be available 

Although the banks won’t be opening over these dates, online banking, mobile banking, and ATM services will remain available anytime and can be done even when the branch is closed.
