Dr. Gurpreet Kaur, wife of Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, gave birth to a baby girl in a private hospital in Mohali on Thursday. Both the child and mother are reported to be healthy. She has been discharged from the hospital and the couple reached home on Friday morning.
The daughter has been named 'Niamat' by the Chief Minister. Chief Minister's wife Dr. Gurpreet Kaur has also been discharged from the hospital. After getting leave, the Chief Minister reached his Chandigarh residence with his little daughter in his lap.
On this occasion, CM Bhagwant Mann himself had reached the hospital to take the family. He was holding the new born baby girl in his lap. At the hospital gate, he talked to the doctors and managers of the hospital and thanked them. Earlier on Thursday, he himself had posted a text on his social media account. It was written in it that Waheguru had blessed his daughter. Both mother and child are healthy.
From Mohali's Phase-8 hospital, the convoy of the CM's family went straight to CM’s Chandigarh residence. On this occasion many vehicles were included in the convoy with a tight security guard. The CM carried the daughter in his hands the entire way. After the journey he addressed the media persons and entered his house. His daughter and wife were welcomed with flowers and drum beats. CM went from the gate to the house on foot.
