Ludhiana West MLA Sanjeev Arora on Thursday sworn in as a Cabinet Minister in the Punjab Government. Sanjeev Arora's induction in the Punjab Cabinet comes after AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal promised the voters of Ludhiana West that the industrialist will be given a Ministerial position in the Punjab Government if he wins the By-election.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann took to his X handle and announced Sanjeev Arora's portfolios in the Punjab Government. Sanjeev Arora has been entrusted with the important departments of Industry & Commerce, Investment Promotion, and NRI Affairs. Till now, Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal was the Minister of NRI Affairs of Punjab. And, the Industries, Commerce & Investment Promotion Minister, Punjab, was Tarunpreet Singh Sond. Notably, no official confirmation has come on whether the party has accepted a resignation from the former Minister or not. The last update is that Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal was in Delhi.
CM Mann took to his X handle and wrote, "(Translated version) Today at Punjab Raj Bhavan, Chandigarh, the Governor of the state, Hon'ble Shri Gulab Chand Kataria ji administered the oath to MLA from Ludhiana West, Sanjeev Arora ji as Cabinet Minister. Best wishes to him for the new responsibility. Sanjeev Arora ji has been given the responsibility of the Industry & Commerce, Investment Promotion, NRI Affairs departments. I hope that Sanjeev Arora ji will live up to the expectations of the people of Punjab. He will work with full honesty and without any discrimination for the development of Punjab and the welfare of 3 crore people of the state."
